🌿 Simple home cleaning hacks that really work

Preparing a property for sale or rent often starts with a good clean. The same goes for anyone wanting to freshen up their own place. Here are a few easy cleaning tips that keep kitchens and bathrooms looking and smelling great without harsh chemicals.
🍋 Microwave
Place a bowl of water with a few lemon slices inside the microwave and heat for five minutes. Once done, remove the bowl and let the water cool slightly. Dip a sponge into the lemon water and wipe down the interior. It loosens grime easily and leaves a clean, citrus scent.
✨ Sinks and splashbacks
Add a small amount of dishwasher rinse aid to a soft cloth and wipe over the sink and splashbacks. It cuts through marks and leaves a shine without streaks.
🧽 Bathroom tiles
Mix baking powder or baking soda with water to make a thick paste. Spread it over the grout, leave it for an hour, then rinse and wipe clean. It helps lift discolouration and keeps grout looking bright.
🧺 Washing machine
Every few months, clean the detergent drawer in hot, soapy water and scrub with an old toothbrush.
If the washing machine has a self-clean cycle, use it. If not, pour two cups of white vinegar into the empty drum and run a hot wash. Run another hot cycle afterwards to rinse, and leave the door open for at least an hour to air.
